The competition can be undertaken as a project within Irish Girl Guide and Scouting groups, Youthreach and more. As the project can be completed individually or as part of a team, it allows flexibility to fit within your specific programme.

By participating, young people will not only design a one-of-a-kind sustainable fashion piece, but also gain hands-on experience in real-world sustainability projects while having fun.

The Relove Fashion competition is an excellent project for Irish Girl Guides, aligning with many of the core values of Guiding, and promoting the development of key transferable skills such as organisation, leadership, teamwork, project planning, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving. Open to Guides and Senior Branch members aged 12-19, this sustainable fashion competition offers a unique opportunity for personal growth and skill development.

By participating, either individually or as part of a Patrol, girls can cultivate essential life-long skills, grow in self-confidence, and gain practical abilities that will serve them well in all aspects of their lives.

Relove Fashion offers Scouts an opportunity to explore and improve their sewing skills, with the potential to repurpose outdoor equipment and textiles such as tents, ropes, raingear and more into sustainable outfits.
